Our meeting was as stars colliding,
The ructions galactic, colossal.
You blazed with an inner fury,
Enough to incinerate any man,
I with my heart of ice, the perfect foil.
The ensuing discharge purged the street,
Neighbourhood, and city;
Steam cleaned by the ferocity of our passion.
For passion it was.
And as we moved closer
The buildings rattled in their foundations,
Windows cracked then shattered,
Yet we remained unmoved.
I touched at your hair; you singed my fingers.
You stroked at my face; I chilled your skin.
And when we kissed…
Ah, when we kissed the Earth rocked.
It tremors still.
